ABOUT US

Inservice is a small press located in the geographical centre of Canada  (Winnipeg/winipīhk). We publish limited run graphic novels, anthologies, comics, and zines with a focus on queer and disabled creators. Founded in 2022 by Winnipeg’s favourite visual artist (Uniter readers poll 2024) Nicholas Friesen, Inservice has released three anthologies featuring creators from around the globe, a handful of OGNs, and two comic series. Spring 2026 will see the release of Rotem Diamant’s Dancing with the Sheyd, Vivi Partridge’s Vivisect, Dino Caruso’s Underpinnings, Georgia Grieve’s All Stripes, and Jo Higgins’ Roadkill.

What is a "micro press"?
This means we publish only a few titles a year, in a limited run of physical copies.

Can I pitch you my idea?
We open to submissions in the summer and publish annual anthologies/compilations, please watch our Instagram - @inservicecomics - for announcements.

Do you ship worldwide?
Currently we only ship to North America.

How fast will I receive my product?
This is a small operation, but all orders will be shipped within a week.

I placed my order but it's been a month, where is my product?
Sometimes we offer "pre-orders" to dictate the print run. Please see the product description for projected shipping dates.

SUBMISSIONS

Thank you for your interest in publishing with Inservice! 

Inservice is a Canadian "micro press" publisher, meaning we publish only a few titles a year, in a limited run of physical copies, with limited distribution, by mostly Canadian creators.

We publish black and white "one off" comics (minimum 24 pages), anthologies, and 100+ page black and white graphic novels. 

Submissions are currently closed. Please watch our Instagram - @inservicecomics - for announcements.

We are focused on certain styles and genres, and primarily work with cartoonists who handle the writing and art for their book, as opposed to teams. 

We're looking for at least 10 complete pages of black and white comics as a sample.
